D.D.A - A Tale of Blatant Encroachments and Illegal Constructions

Even as rampant illegal constructions become a norm of normalcy, most have either partaken in or witnessed them mushroom with muteness. Nonetheless, Lo and behold the image of a DDA Flat No. 51-B located bang in the heart of the national capital pointing to the sheer apathy and lawlessness, which is rotting the fundamental tenets for founding the Delhi Development Authority.

Appallingly, this side-view image of an apartment in the plush Janakpuri area is the quintessence of blatant flouting of MCD's building by-laws, a glaring mockery of the highly-touted Masterplan 2020, and the additional load of the concrete monstrosity boots the exigent concepts of structural stability, thereby, ensuing grave peril for the inhabitants of the building. 

Shockingly, a high-tension BSES electric cable runs parallel to the roofing material, with five bricks precariously segregating an impending catastrophe - ranging from an everything-torching fire hazard to nerve-damaging electrocution. 

Without an iota of doubt, this blot on architectural aesthetics, not merely impedes the sight plane of the second-floor residents, but, defines the nefarious nexus between the black money hoarding flat allotee, the venal officials infesting the various government departments, & the avaricious law enforcement agencies, which turn a blind eye to encroachments constructed upon a garage area, transforming it into a two-bedroom penthouse replete with every modern amenity imaginable. 

Indeed, this illegitimate erection is a double whammy - it cocks a snook at the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, and, wittingly disregards the jurisdiction effectuated by the Apex court. 

Now, the question beckoning the law-abiding citizenry of this nation is whether these inescapable illegalities get razed to the ground, whereby, restoring the pristine version or the well-heeled few exploit the law of the land endlessly as if its some kind of patrimonial prerogative.

Sadly, over the years, the bane of Indianness is the majoritarian populace being impudent towards the law of the land,  considering it as their privileged patrimony, whereby leading to unabashedly remorseless rule-tweaking-streaks, based on their hallucinatory whims and fancies. 

After all, the genesis of establishing the Delhi Development Authority in 1957 is providing affordable housing to the penurious, and such irregularities of opulence defeat the reason for its creation. Inaction shall further foster eye-popping improprieties, while, the earnest continuously cry hoarse over spilt milk. 

Additionally, bearing the brunt of such visual soreness accentuates the glaringly unaesthetic town planning, not to mention the palpable urban claustrophobic ambience permeating India's metropolitan cities. 

But, does anyone care?
